Group Exercise Class Guide

 

SPIN

A freestyle indoor cycle class (generally set to music) designed to challenge your aerobic endurance. Designed to simulate road cycling, without the dangerous conditions. Classes can involve hill climbing, sprinting and recovery elements. The Instructors demonstrate a level at which they want you to work, and your choice is whether to work at, above or below this level. This is a GREAT cardio workout with a very low level of impact. Bikes are limited so get to the class at least 10 minutes early to setup your bike and get your place. Spin in held in the room to the left as you enter the facilities main entrance. Low Impact, Moderate to High Intensity

CIRCUIT

An aerobic, anaerobic, muscular/cardio endurance indoor/outdoor class, basically a bit of everything. This class involves a mixture of light weights, body weight exercises, core work and low impact cardio in a circuit format. This is a great class for those who enjoy a mixture of low and high intensity while at the same time training at low impact. Great for beginners, our mature and motivated members, and those with a low level of fitness. Low Impact, Low to High Intensity

YOGA

A class in which you can relax, increase your flexibility and prepare yourself for the day ahead or unwind from the day just past. An interesting class which can relax and challenge you at the same time. This class in held in the Group Fitness Room attached to the gym. Low Impact, Low to Moderate Intensity

YOGA-LATES

A combination of Yoga and Pilates, this class is designed to strengthen your core, improve your posture and also relax you. So to increase your flexibility and firm and flatten those tummies give this class a go. This class is held in the Group Fitness Room attached to the gym. Low Impact, Low to Moderate Intensity

FITBLAST

An outdoor cardio/strength/aerobic/endurance class which can be anything from circuit training to a run broken up with strength exercises. A great workout for those who enjoy something different and challenging, and like to get outdoors to train. Classes begin in the undercover area by the entrance to the gym. Moderate to High Impact, High Intensity

PUNCH “N” PUFF

An aerobic and strength class that utilizes the intense cardio conditioning that comes from boxing. With instructions on technique, anyone from any skill level can participate. It’s a great way to relieve stress and increase your hand-eye coordination. For hygienic reasons glove inners are required to be worn by all participants, these can be purchased from the facilities reception or from sporting goods stores. This class is held in the undercover area in front of the gym. High Impact, Moderate to High Intensity

BOOTCAMP

This is a Boot Camp inspired outdoor class. If you are ready to be pushed and challenged in any way imaginable and possibly ways you could never imagine then come along to this class. Every class could contain new challenges and new ways to make you hurt! This class could be held anywhere in the complex so keep your eye out for the set up or ask one of the gym staff. High Impact, High Intensity

KICKFIT

You know the workout you get from punching, well combine that with the stylings of taekwondo kicks and Muay Thai knees and you’ve got twice the workout! A great aerobic and strength conditioning class utilizing the whole body. Held outdoors under the undercover area in front of the gym. High Impact, Moderate to High Intensity

AQUA AEROBICs

An aquatic class which caters for all levels. Differing classes with different combinations of equipment and circuits provides a great variety. An excellent cardiovascular and strength workout. Excellent for improving flexibility, weight loss and fat burning. This class is held in the 25m pool. Low Impact, Moderate Intensity

SENIOR/LOW IMPACT AQUA AEROBICS

A low intensity, fun orientated class designed for beginners, pregnant women, the elderly, the overweight and those recovering from soft tissue injuries. This class is held in the 25m pool. Low Impact, Low Intensity

DEEP WATER AQUA AEROBICS

A fun, enjoyable class where there is no impact on the joints, just the resistance of the water. This class caters for all levels, using buoyancy belts. Deep water jogging is included in this class. This class is held in the 50m pool. Low Impact, Low to Moderate Intensity

EASY BEATS

A class for our Mature and Motivated members. Combining a mixture of aerobics, step, Fitball and core work to give a great moderate to high intensity workout without the high impact. A great full body workout!

Adult swimming training structured to cater for all levels of ability. Formally structured sessions involving stroke correction and technique. Great for those wanting to improve their swimming ability and perfect for those who can’t do high impact training. And perfect for increasing lung capacity.
